It's electrifying!

Who knew the extent to which society had become dependent upon technology?

I certaintly didn't.
Here, I thought I was pretty well adjusted in reference to technology. I didn't believe that I was dependent upon technology. In fact, I thought I was rather independent.

I was wrong.

I can't function. I need lights! I need the internet! I need the microwave! I need the radio!

I NEED A HOT SHOWER!

It's insane if you think about it. I mean, my family has been without power since Sunday afternoon, and we're going crazy - seriously crazy. There has been no school (except for me - the college kid), no work, and little or no entertainment. Picking up sticks and doing dishes were the highlights of my day yesterday. Really, sticks and dishes...

Oh, and I now understand why blindness was an epidemic before electricity. Reading by candlelight is virtually impossible! I have a permanent headache just from trying. Not fun.

It's frustrating because I can't get anything done, yet all my professors are still demanding that we try. Why? WHY!?
It is all for nought.

I give up. I'll confess:
I am irrevocably and resolutely addicted to technology.

Please, Duke Energy, turn back on my lights.
