Okay. I have never liked Twilight.
I think it is an immature, ill-written piece of fluff with sexist themes and skewed gender roles. It annoys me to no end to think of young, impressionable girls reading the series and worshiping the character of Edward Cullen, who is clearly oppressive, possessive, and dangerous. The "love story" of Edward and Bella is nothing more than a rambling narrative encouraging unhealthy and abusive relationships while promoting male dominance and female submissiveness.
Haven't we graduated into the era of female empowerment? Where have all the strong, witty female characters gone?
Hence, I was ecstatic when Alison sent me this video. It completely reveals the ridiculous nature of the series and the innate creepiness of Edward Cullen. I certainly would not be attracted to a man who watches me while I sleep and follows me around because he feels "protective" of me...
That is just ignorant and dangerous.
I am so glad that rebelliouspixels put this video out to illustrate the clearly skewed gender roles in Twilight. It is so clever and intelligent! It makes me quite happy :D
Enjoy!

Buffy: Get out or I'll throw you out head first.
Edward: Are you scared?
Buffy: No. You know how I feel? Bored.
Amen sister!
